The Dyrt Dogs: Northwestern University Capstone Project

Persona for Dryt App User
Presented May 2021

Background & Objective

Camping has seen steady growth over the past 5 years (Kampgrounds of America, 2020), but due to the pandemic there was a dramatic increase in camping, including first time campers that intend to continue their outdoor adventures. Many campers and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy bringing along their four-legged friend.  Some of the most important amenities campers are looking for are locations that have off leash areas including dog parks and beaches, spacious campsites, and nearby pet-friendly hiking trails. It’s hard to find this kind of pet-friendly information in widely-used camping apps. Based on preliminary research, a camping app that provided these pet-specific resources and reviews would have a head start in the outdoor recreation market to serve this niche.

While The Dyrt camping app has a filter for pet-friendly campgrounds it lacks in-depth resources.
