This is the second or third time (I’m blaming the beer for not remembering how many times exactly) that I’ve had great lower bowl seats.  I vow that from now on, unless it’s a playoff game or we get a new freakin’ arena, I  won’t buy upper bowl seats.   I’m spoiled, I know, thanks.

Following the game we hooked back up with Chuck and his hockey buddies and tried to scam some hot dogs at the bar but they ended up on the bill. I guess it would be appropriate to tell you that Chuck & his friends know the owner of Andrew’s on the Corner and we weren’t just some punks off the street stealing stuff. Ah well, better luck next time.

*Andrew’s has shuttles to all the games including the Tigers (hello opening day!) and Lions. Check it out. The bar is located at 201 Joseph Campau Street. I’d link to the Andrew’s on the Corner’s website but it’s outdated and sad. (I offered to redo it but there wasn’t much interest)*

Lastly, speaking of the Red Wings, have you seen this? And have you voted?

A few facts:

• Datsyuk is my favorite player.  I wear his jersey when I’m lucky enough to go to games.  I have not succumbed to being a crazy fan by stalking the restaurant he apparently frequents before home games, even though it’s close to my house.
• I hate the Anaheim Goons Ducks,  though I love the  rivalry.  Game 7 in the playoffs against Anaheim in 2009 was by far the BEST Red Wings game I’ve been to.
• I hate Cindy Sydney Crosby, but I hate Malkin so much more.
• I’m glad we are finally rid of Lebda, good luck with him Toronto.  I’m also glad that Lilja is gone (funny he’s in Anaheim now).
• I have a deep affection for the Tampa Bay Lightening.  When we lived in Florida we bought a package to their games.  For the past 5 years we have gone to the Red Wings v. Lightening games regardless if they are in Detroit or Tampa.  This year should be no different (Hello Florida sunshine in February!).
• Vinny Lecavalier is my favorite Lightening player.

Some video pleasure:

Things have been pretty quiet around my part.  After the Wings lost the Stanley Cup we stopped talking about hockey for a little while.  Mostly because the thought of Sidney Crosby hoisting the cup at the Joe made me more than a little ill.

I’m mostly over it now, I think.  There is always next year, but what are the chances of the Wings being in the finals 3 years in a row?

So will Hossa stay?  I wonder how that guy feels.

In other news our $10,000 “shed” that Chuck wanted built is almost finished.  We are just waiting for them to fill the foundation with cement and the siding needs to be finished.  When it’s done I’ll be sure to post a picture.

I finally found a place for us to take the dogs.  I’m super excited for our little doggie getaway in a couple weeks.  We are going to stay in East Tawas.  It’s still up in the air if we will be able to bring the boat because while we were having maintenance on it they found a bigger problem.  A $2,500 problem. 

How awesome will it to be able to enjoy nature with the doggies?!  I can’t wait!
