endlessly curious
As of today I have exactly 15 months until my 30th birthday. It’s the perfect time to announce that I am 1/3 of my way through my 30 before 30 list.
Yesterday I crossed a 10th item off my list after I ran the 29th Annual Corktown 5k.

It was a last minute idea, Lisa called me a week before and asked if I wanted to run it. Coincidentally, I was going to ask her if she wanted to run the Shamrock 5k in Ann Arbor but due to low funds I hadn’t. We’ve been talking about completing a 5k for over a year now but we hadn’t gotten it together.
We picked up our race packets from Running Fit in Northville on Friday and I also bought new shoes. I’ve never been fitted for running shoes, I had used whatever I had lying around. I should have done this sooner because my new shoes are so comfortable. I think I may need inserts though because by the end of mile 2 my arches were starting to whimper.
I didn’t know what to expect but I think the Corktown 5k was the perfect place to start. I was so glad I had Girl Talk to keep my company down Michigan Ave.
In review of my 30 before 30 list, here are the ones I am almost positive I will have completed by fall:
If I can accomplish those I will have reached the halfway point. A few items on the list are travel and if those are the only things I don’t get to I would be ok with that.
What’s on your life list? Any advice for a newbie 5k(er)?
