Lately because of the genius or burden of social media I’ve reconnected with old friends. Which gets me thinking. Has it really been 9 years since we graduated high school? That our 10 year reunion is no fooling right around the corner? Which means that our 30th birthdays will be here before we know it. As cliche as all of that sounds, it’s true.
Remember when we thought 30 was old? That by this time we’d be married with 2.5 kids and all that fun stuff? Life isn’t what we thought it would be back then. At least mine isn’t. I don’t remember specifically pinpointing where I would be at 30, I think I might have had some dreams of writing for a magazine, but maybe I’m just making that up.
In honor of the realization that yes, we are getting old, I present you my 30 things to accomplish before I’m 30. (In no particular order)
- Finish writing my book or start and finish a new one
- Understand and use more PHP
- Take graphic design classes
- Buy a cottage in Oscoda
- Take photographs to blow up and frame
- Visit California & Seaworld
- Visit Toronto & ride the train
- Go to a blogger meet-up or conference
- Take a hot air balloon ride
- Visit Keywest
- Take a Zumba class
- See Times Square
- Go white water rafting
- Experience Isle Royale
- Be debt free not including my student loan (not holding my breath on that)
- Visit a foreign country not including Mexico or Canada
- Learn Tagalog (anyone want to teach me?)
- Run a marathon
- Get all my favorite recipes together and make myself a cookbook
- Have a girls getaway where more than just Lisa and I participate
- Get one more tattoo
- Visit the fish market in Seattle
- Learn to french braid my hair
- View fall colors in the UP
- Take a cross country road trip
- Meet up with Kat and Amy
- Go to a Wings game in Chicago
- Change the oil in my car (just once to say I did it)
- Get the dogs pictures painted
- Finish the basement
I’m overwhelmed by this list. Let’s see how much I get through

looks like you want to travel a lot, you better stop going up north and save the time/money for a bigger trip somewhere else!
Good Luck!
And hey, get 2 out of the way at the same time, have a girls trip to one of those places out of state
