wedding-invitation

I was waking up on the Garden Isle, Kauai, with the realization that I was getting married.  I don’t think I’ve ever been ordinary in my thoughts and dreams.  I always wanted something different and nontraditional.

My marriage ceremony would be no different.  Chuck and I planned our wedding on the beach of Hanalei, which this year, National Geographic named number 1 in their top beaches in the US.

We got up the morning of our special day and took a nice long jog on Lumahai beach at 5:30am.

We then went back to our adorable cottage we rented and took our time getting things together.

The plan was to drive to Kapaa and drop Chuck off and I would pick up his sisters and my friend Amanda who were helping me get ready.

And that’s what we did.  Would you believe we stopped at Bubba’s Burgers for lunch? It was a pretty relaxed day.

June and Linda brought snacks to go along with the mimosas we were leisurly consuming as we got ready.

The flowers in Trish and Amanda’s hair were from the neighbor’s garden.  Cheryl, the owner of the cottage, had come by to see if we needed anything and offered to get flowers for us.

We were running a little late to meet with the wedding planners and the guys but it all worked out.

im000912We have lots of ups and downs.  We don’t pretend to be happy all the time.  We  keep moving forward.  We’ve had wonderful times and awesome memories.  I know we’ll have many more!
